5 districts of MP will remain without electricity tonight, what will be the preparations in the remaining 50 districts?

Today, mock drills are happening in five districts of Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, and Katni. The government’s home department has given the orders. So, this evening, from 7:30 PM to 7:42 PM, all these cities will experience a blackout. Yep, the lights will be off for a little while! They’ll also sound air raid sirens. Along with these five districts, the other fifty districts will also review how prepared they are for any disasters, and they’ll make improvements where needed.

In Bhopal, they’re practicing rescue operations in five different spots.

Bhopal’s Collector, Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, shared that the goal is to get people ready and make sure the administration is strong enough to handle any emergency. The mock drill will run from 4 PM to 8 PM today, Wednesday, May 7th. They’ll be rehearsing rescue scenarios at five locations around the city, each simulating a different emergency.

Here’s what’s happening where:

  • BHEL Area: They’ll practice search and rescue operations.
  • DB Mall: There will be a fire drill, showing how to save people and get the injured out.
  • Tulsi Nagar: They’ll set up a temporary hospital to show how they’d handle medical emergencies.
  • New Market: They’ll practice getting people to safety and taking them to the police lines.
  • Kokta Multi: They’ll practice rescuing people from a building collapse.

Blackout and Alert System:

Around 7:30 PM to 7:42 PM, there will be a blackout across Bhopal. Before the blackout starts, there will be a two-minute red alert siren. Everyone is asked to turn off lights at home, in shops, offices, and other places. Drivers on the road should stop their vehicles and turn off headlights and taillights. When the blackout ends, at 7:42 PM, a green alert siren will sound, signaling that everything is back to normal, and you can turn the lights back on.

A Plea to the Public:

Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh has asked everyone not to worry, as this is just a drill. He’s requested that the people of Bhopal cooperate to help them work quickly and correctly in a real emergency. He mentioned that daily life will continue as usual during this time.

Mock Drill in Nehru Nagar:

A mock drill was also done at the police lines in Nehru Nagar, Bhopal. They showed how to rescue people in a fire. They set up a temporary house and set it on fire. The rescue team demonstrated how to safely get people out. The police and NDRF teams worked together to get the injured to a temporary hospital. Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra and other officials were there too.

Preparations in Indore:

Indore is also busy preparing for the mock drill. The mayor, Pushyamitra Bhargav, held a meeting with big hotels and all the councilors. They decided to prepare ten volunteers in each ward. The councilors in each ward will inform people about the mock drill and the blackout.
