4.65₹ Crore Approved for Construction, But College Building Yet to Begin

Mahasamund: In Tendukona, Mahasamund district, Buddhan Shah Naveen College was established in the academic year 2018. This new college is being set up in the building of the Government Higher Secondary School in Tendukona. However, even after six years since its opening, the college building has not been constructed. Due to the lack of a dedicated building, the college operates in the morning shift, which limits the time students have for their studies.

The college was opened by the Higher Education Department in 2018, but essential facilities are still lacking. There is a shortage of teachers and staff, and the college also lacks a library and laboratory. Local residents and representatives have expressed concerns that the Higher Education Department seems to have forgotten about the college after its establishment in Tendukona.

It’s important to note that 15 acres of land have been allocated for Buddhan Shah Naveen College in Tendukona, and the government has approved a budget of ₹4.65 crore for its construction. However, the building work has yet to commence. Despite efforts from former members of the community participation committee and the college management to communicate with local representatives and the Higher Education Department regarding the construction, the project has not progressed due to administrative negligence and the indifference of elected officials.
