16 Naxalites killed in Sukma encounter, heavy weapons and explosives recovered
Sukma Encounter Date 29/03/2025: A total of 16 bodies of naxalites have been recovered till now in Sukma encounter. A large quantity of AK 47, SLR, INSAS Rifle, .303 Rifle, rocket launcher, BGL launcher weapons and explosives were recovered from the encounter site. Joint forces of DRG Sukma/CRPF were part of Bijapur operation. The naxalites killed in the encounter are being identified. Two DRG jawans were injured in the encounter. The condition of the injured jawans is normal and out of danger. On 28.03.2025, on the intelligence of the presence of Maoists in Keralapal police station area of Sukma district, a joint party of DRG Sukma and CRPF left for anti-naxal operation. During the operation, continuous firing is going on between the Maoists and security forces since 08 am today, 29/03/2025. Bodies of 16 Naxalites along with a huge quantity of weapons and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site. There is a possibility of many more Naxalites getting killed or injured in the encounter. Patrolling and search operation is still going on in the surrounding area.
