10-day physical measurement campaign started for determining the nutritional level of children

Physical measurement days of children are organized in the Anganwadi centers of the state on 10 working days of every month to determine the nutritional level of children in the age group of birth to 6 years. During this, the weight and length/height of all the children in the age group of birth to 6 years registered in the Poshan Tracker App are measured with accuracy and entered in the app, which determines the nutritional level of the children. In the month of June, a 10-day physical measurement campaign is being organized from 18 to 28 June. It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Women and Child Development has provided an option for correction in the erroneous entry of weight and length/height of children in the Poshan Tracker App for the month of June 2024 as per their actual measurement.
Commissioner, Women and Child Development, Smt. Sufia Farooqui Wali has directed that during the physical measurement campaign, each supervisor will make a visit to those poorly performing centers in their area for one day each and with the help of Anganwadi worker, will take the weight and length/height of all the underweight/stunted and SAM/MAM children identified in the previous month with accuracy and will ensure the entry of correct information in the Nutrition Tracker. Each supervisor will visit 10 to 15 centers and ensure necessary action. She said that inspection of those centers should be ensured at the district level, which have the highest number of malnourished children under the project. A list of those children should be prepared by the supervisor through the Anganwadi worker, especially, whose weight and length/height measurement has been entered incorrectly in the past months, currently correct measurement should be taken and its entry should be ensured in the Nutrition Tracker app. For effective implementation and supervision of the programme, Mrs. Farooqui has directed the Child Development Project Officer to visit at least 20 Anganwadi Centres and the District Programme Officer and Joint Director to visit at least 15 Anganwadi Centres each and get the weight of the children verified in person.
